Path to a better life

For those dedicated to completing the Operating Partner Program, there are significant financial benefits. These take the form of annual compensation, profit sharing, and other business perks. These benefits are summarized below in 1, 5, and 10 year milestones, but every year in between (and after) provides increased financial benefit. There is no limit to your opportunity with Better Together Brands!

Salary, Bonus, and Commissions

Salary, Bonus, and Commissions

Annual compensation comes in 3 forms – salary, bonus, and commissions. Each Operating Partner starts the business and wealth building journey at $35,000 base salary and has the opportunity to earn a lot more based on business results. Expected minimum annual compensation looks like:

Year 1 $50,000 or more
Year 5 $75,000 or more
Year 10 $100,000 or more

NOTE: These financial benefits can be realized sooner based on business results.
By year 5 (or earlier), an Operating Partner could buy a home worth $225,000 or more, send a child to college, start a nest egg for retirement, and take some really cool vacations!

Profit Sharing

Ownership

Operating Partners earn into the ownership of the business as a direct result of their contributions to business performance. Ownership follows a vesting schedule and is expected to generate significant financial benefits over a 10 year period. Operating Partners work with a financial planner to create a personalized Wealth Building Plan that lifts them to the top 25% of wealth by reaching specific financial goals:

Year 1 $10,000 or more
Year 5 $125,000 or more
Year 10 $400,000 or more

NOTE: These financial benefits can be realized sooner based on business results.
By year 5 (or earlier), an Operating Partner could buy their own business, send a child to college, invest in a retirement account, and take some amazing vacations!

One of the benefits of small business is that certain expenses are allowed to be paid out of the business, as long as they are directly related to the business. Our Operating Partners appreciate these additional perks which benefit them but are paid for by the business. These include:

Startup Capital

Startup funding

Each Better Together Brands business is funded with $100,000 in start up capital, at no cost to the Operating Partner.

These funds are sufficient to carry the operating expenses of the business until it reaches profitability. They are on loan to the business, and are paid back over 5 years from the revenues of the business.

Better Together Brands obtains start up funding from a variety of sources, including: social investors and non-profits aligned with our mission, banks and private trusts, charitable contributions, grants, community foundations, and city/county investments.

Are YOU Ready? The first 90 days are a whirlwind where our Operating Partners “drink through the fire hose”! There is much to learn about building a business and our Program goes from 0 to 60 in the first 90 days, so Ready, Set, GO!!

Operating Partners follow a structured onboarding checklist to prioritize their initial activities, such as:

  • Announce the new business
  • Attend orientation
  • Participate in sales workshop
  • Set up social media handles
  • Order business cards
  • Take business communications course
  • Update professional wardrobe
  • Attend onsite training
  • Take financial planning class
  • Start 1:1 coaching sessions
  • Hiring team members
  • Receive vehicle, iPhone, iPad
  • Learn software tools
  • Make first customer visits

Most of our Operating Partners generate their first sale in the first 30 days of opening! This is an exciting time, and we will be beside you all the way, cheering your progress and supporting you as you learn how to build a million dollar business.

Workshop & training

The Operating Partner Program is centered on classroom, workshop, and on the job training curriculum that covers all aspects of general business management. These skills are highly transferable and can be used to advance a career in management or business.

Think of it as the MBA that pays you! WOW, what a concept.

As Operating Partner, you will learn the roles and responsibilities of your new role and how your leadership directly impacts business results. You will learn the fundamentals of the business product or service, sales and marketing, finance and accounting, and employee management. You will learn to use a variety of technology tools to organize and streamline daily business activities. You will learn to develop your own leadership style as you slowly build a team to achieve business goals. You will learn to outreach within the local community and develop relationships with stakeholders who can help you succeed. Finally, you will develop a personalized Wealth Building Plan designed to bring you financial security and lifelong wealth.

Mentorship & Support

Outside of the classroom, our Operating Partners continue to learn and receive valuable feedback on their leadership and business performance. The support they receive comes from many sources including:

A BUSINESS CONSULTANT

Each business concept has a dedicated consultant who is always available to answer questions and provide guidance. This person will be invaluable to Operating Partners as they learn to navigate their unique business model. Asking questions is how we learn … there’s no such thing as a dumb question!

A DEDICATED COACH

Each Operating Partner is assigned an experienced person responsible for maximizing their success. Your coach will schedule regular sessions with you to ensure you are on track to reach the business goals, recommend ways you can improve business results, and help remove obstacles that are in your way.

A NETWORK OF PEERS

You will have access to other operators in the same (and different) business concepts that you are building, and you will come to rely on these relationships for camaraderie, best practices, and support. When possible, conferences will be offered so Operating Partners can further expand their peer network.

A FINANCIAL PLANNER

As part of your apprenticeship with Better Together Brands, you will create a personalized Wealth Building Plan to secure the financial future of your dreams. Working with a professional financial planner helps you take the right steps today to reach your income and wealth goals tomorrow. It is our goal for you that by the end of the Operating Partner Program, your income and wealth will be in the top 25% of all Americans (that’s annual income of $100K or greater and wealth of $400K or greater).

Unlimited financial potential is available to Operating Partners who successfully build a Better Together business to a million dollars in sales.

After $1,000,000 in unit sales is achieved and Operating Partner training is completed, Operating Partners have the opportunity to “double down” and buy additional ownership in the business. Or, they can add a second business to their General Manager responsibilities. Then a third, then a fourth, then a fifth, etc. “Doubling down” is a great way to multiply your wealth building potential with Better Together Brands.
